Michael holds degrees in Heritage Conservation and Town Planning and has an employment background in Local and State Government as well as private practice. He has previously worked for Local Councils and with the Heritage Division of the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage.

He currently heads up Edwards Heritage Consultants (formerly Edwards Planning), a respected and leading heritage consultancy in the northwest of Sydney and is Heritage Advisor to the City of Ryde Council, Cessnock City Council and Georges River Council.

As an experienced Heritage Consultant / Advisor and Town Planner, Michael has a firm academic grounding in both the heritage conservation and town planning disciplines, together with extensive practical experience, providing a well rounded approach to his work.

Through the provision of robust specialist advice, on-site consultation, professional reporting and representation, Michael has been facilitating and achieving successful outcomes for a diverse range of projects and Clients, including individual property owners, Local Councils and other government agencies, educational institutions, ecclesiastical groups, property developers and other professionals.
